Whether you’re an industry professional, nonprofit leader, or musician, this event is designed to strengthen relationships, share knowledge, and provide vital health services to those who make music happen.

Event Schedule

12:00 PM | Load-In & Catered Lunch for Businesses & Organizations

For-profit and nonprofit organizations are invited to set up and enjoy a catered lunch while networking with each other before the event begins.

1:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Free Music Industry Health Clinic

  • Midwest Music Foundation is providing free custom earplugs (value $250) to the first 12 qualified musicians/music industry personnel to apply. Impressions will be done by Susan Newton, AudioGirl Consulting

  • Dr. Allen Greiner & Dr. Erin Corriveau from the RockDocs, physicians from University of Kansas Medical Center, will offer information, screenings, wellness programs, opportunities to discuss health conditions/concerns, and arrange follow up visits. 

  • Ellie Ludwig, Community Health Council of Wyandotte County, will provide information on ACA insurance and Medicaid enrollment.

    Appointments are recommended. Walk-ins will be allowed as time permits.

1:00 PM – 3:00 PM | Industry Networking & Keynote Speaker

  • 1:00 - 1:30 - Networking, Connect with for-profit and nonprofit organizations that support the Midwest music ecosystem.

  • 1:30 - 1:50 - Hear from our keynote speaker, Max Indiveri, J.D. who will share his experience in building strong music communities through his work at Midtopia.

  • 1:50 - 3:00 - Networking, Strengthen industry partnerships and explore new collaborations.

3:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Industry Showcase: Artist & Industry Professional Connections

  • 3:00 - 3:30 Program provided by AltCap on loan preparedness and maintaining a good credit score.

    • Credit expert: Emily Martens, CHES, Inc.

    • Underwriting expert: Ana Vega, AltCap 

    • Musician and entrepreneur: Roy Scott of Healthy Hip Hop

    • Moderator: Brant Stacy, AltCap

  • 3:30 - 4:00 Brief (1 minute introductions) from industry professionals followed by open networking with artists and fellow industry members.

  • Artists are invited to discover the businesses and organizations that can help them move their careers forward.

PRESENTERS

  • Max Indiveri, J.D.

    MIDTOPIA, Booking Agent/Artist Management/Legal Team/DTOUR Affiliate

    Max Indiveri is the product of a reckless determination to break into the lawless and insular music community, no matter the cost.

    Max earned his bachelor's degree in political science and now attends Law School at the University of Kansas, where he is a third year student.

    In service of this hope, he now occupies a dual role at Midtopia, a 501c(4) organization dedicated to crafting equitable and sustainable pathways for independent artists to create the important work that they desire to do. At Midtopia, Max works as a member of the touring team, where he secures performance opportunities and works collaboratively with industry members on behalf of Midtopia’s growing roster of clients, In addition, Max works as a legal intern under Midtopia’s general counsel as he works to help build the infrastructure upon which progress might be built. In his free time, Max tours with his band “The Whips”, writes music and watches “Heat” and other films featuring our greatest Italian Americans.

  • Roy Scott

    Healthy Hip Hop, CEO and Founder

    Roy was heavily influenced by hip-hop culture growing up. After graduating high school, he passed on a promising college basketball career to become a rapper. Years later, Roy picked up his four-year-old son, Justus, from school and noticed him repeating his explicit lyrics word for word. That’s when he knew a drastic change was needed and Healthy Hip Hop was born.

    Healthy Hip Hop serves as a positive alternative that focuses on uplifting youth through promoting mental and physical health, educational achievement and personal empowerment.

  • Emily Martens

    CHES, Inc., Credit Specialist/Relationship Manager

    CHES, Inc. is proud to be designated as a HUD (Department of Housing & Urban Development) Approved Housing Counseling Agency. CHES, Inc. is highly regarded as a quality provider of HUD Approved Home Buyer & Home Ownership Education to area individuals and families. As the Credit Specialist and Relationship Manager, Emily is a part of the pre-purchase team. Along with the Credit Department Manager, she is building and maintaining the credit restoration portion of CHES, Inc. While they may serve all, they maintain a heavy focus on helping the area KC urban core achieve their financial purchasing dreams.

  • Ana Vega

    AltCap, Underwriter

    Ana’s role at AltCap is to work directly with entrepreneurs and small business owners to connect them with the capital and support they need to grow. With deep experience in small business lending and a passion for inclusive economic development, Ana helps creative entrepreneurs prepare for funding opportunities and navigate the path to financial readiness.

  • Brant Stacy

    AltCap, Community Partnership Manager

    Brant leads efforts to expand access to capital for entrepreneurs who have traditionally been left out of mainstream financial systems. With over ten years of experience designing and managing programs, he is dedicated to helping creative professionals build sustainable businesses through access to thoughtful financial planning and loan readiness.

  • Kelly Dougherty

    KKFI 90.1FM, Director of Development & Communications

    Kelly joined KKFI 90.1 FM in September of 2022. Most recently, she was the Marketing Manager at the Folly Theatre. Having navigated and successfully marketed the Folly and its shows during a major pandemic, Kelly brings a sense of community, inclusion and thoughtfulness to the position at KKFI.

    Kelly also works with local nonprofits in Kansas City, including being a founding member of the Kansas City Irish Festival, where she remains steadfast on the entertainment team. She is also an emeritus board member of the Kansas City Irish Center and was instrumental in purchasing Drexel Hall. Kelly is also an advisory board member for the Heartland Song Network and continues volunteering for causes close to her civic-minded heart.

    She has a Master’s in Liberal Arts from Baker University and a Bachelor’s in Science majoring in Economics from Emporia State.

  • Bill Sundahl

    Crossroads Music Fest, Founder & Director

    Bill Sundahl has been the driving force behind the Crossroads Music Fest for 21 years, demonstrating a deep commitment to Kansas City’s music scene. As Festival Director, he is responsible for curating the artist lineup, coordinating performances, and ensuring the festival reflects a diverse array of genres and voices.

    Bill is also the founder and principal consultant at Z&W Unlimited, For Purpose Consulting. He holds a Certificate in Fundraising Leadership from the Midwest Center for Nonprofit Leadership at UMKC’s Bloch School of Management.

    He KC home with his wife and two daughters and is currently performing with the Starhaven Rounders.
